It is also a highly inflected language in which nouns can have up to 238 possible forms. It is related to Mansi, an Ob-Ugric language. Written in the Latin alphabet, the language is composed of forty-four letters, including seven pairs of vowels and twenty-five consonants, all of which can be long or short, with phonemic stress giving meaning.
